Anime Review: Bakuman

Anime Review: Bakuman

Hello guys, I've decided to do another early anime review (since anime is pretty much my love), so without any further ado, lets get this anime review under way!

What is anime?:

Anime, in short means an animation made in Japan, nowadays, anime is iconic for the eye and hair styles that is applied onto many anime characters. The reason behind this is because the god of manga (aka Osamu Tezuka) is the creator of the iconic eyes and hair as he used these in his most famous anime and manga work 'Astro Boy'.

What is this anime about (in a nutshell)?:

Bakuman is an anime where 2 young boys aim to make a manga that rocks the world and only aims to be at the top! Moritaka Mashiro aims to be the top manga artist for one specific purpose, as a promise by Miho Azuki, the one that Moritaka loves had promised him that if he got number 1 in shonen jump, they would get married. Moritaka being the artist throughout the series, and Akito Takagi being the author of all the manga that the 2 wonders create. However, during the episodes, more competition faces them, with their competition also aiming to be the top!

Is it worth watching, what is the appropriate age to watch this?:

Bakuman is definitely worth a watch, it contains no violence whatsoever and definitely inspires you! Although no violence is contained within it, I would still rate it for at least 12 years or older, due to the fact that there is a lot of dialogue that can be very hard to understand, and with the fact that after season 1, Bakuman is no longer English dubbed and turns into an English Sub.

Anime Review: Sakamichi no Apollon

Anime Review: Sakamichi no Apollon

Hello again guys, time for another anime review, I've been watching loads of different anime just for you guys, so without further ado, lets get on with the review.

Sakamichi no Apollon is based during the year 1966 about a high-school student named Kaoru Nishimi, who has a love for playing classical music on the piano. Karou Nishimi had always kept moving to different high-schools due to himself being nervous around other people. However, this is all changed when he meets a new person named Sentaro Kawabuchi, who absolutely loves jazz and always plays the drums, whether it be with sticks or an actual drum kit. Karou is then acquainted by a person named Ritsuko Mukae, who is childhood friends with Sentaro Kawabuchi. The anime from then on tells the stories of Karou and Sentaro jamming it out together on piano and the drums, with the love stories of Ritsuko and all of the friend zones in the anime (I would tell you guys more, but it would just spoil the anime).

Is it worth watching, what is the appropriate age to watch this?:

Sakamichi no Apollon is a great anime to watch for those who are interested in music definitely (and romance, since I think romance is the coolest thing in the world for an anime, apart from fighting of course). This is recommended for 13+ as it includes mild/joke violence.

Anime Review: Ben-To

Anime Review: Ben-To

Since I felt really bad about missing my deadline to post. I've decided to make up for this and post early just for you guys/gals. I really hope you enjoy the review of this anime.

Ben-To is an anime made by Kaito Shibano that was first introduced as a manga, it's original run being February 22, 2008. The anime is basically about shopkeepers (known as half-pricing gods in the anime) selling half priced bento applying stickers to them and as soon as the shopkeeper leaves the area, everyone pops out of nowhere fighting for these bento, the rules are as soon as you grab a bento, no one can touch you. This is really similar and you could actually compare the anime to Black Friday somewhat. The protagonist in this anime is called Yō Satō, who fights and earns his place to receive the half-priced bento.

Is it worth watching, what is the appropriate age to watch this?:

Ben-To is an anime definitely worth watching, especially if you like humorous and short anime filled with plenty of action. It's like the anime was made as a joke, but somehow managed to become successful. I would recommend this anime to 13+, it is very funny, but there is quite a bit of violence (hence the fighting over bento).

Anime Review: Sword Art Online

Anime Review: Sword Art Online

Sorry for the delay on not being able to post on Thursday, I sincerely apologize for any inconvieniences that may have been caused and will try my very hardest to not do it again! But relating to the post, we will be reviewing the anime Sword Art Online, which is one of my favourites!

Sword Art Online is a anime that was made by Reki Kawahara from the Light-novel version of Sword Art Online. The anime is set in the year 2024-2025 and about a 16 year old boy named 'Kazuto Kirigaya' who studies about technology and has always loved technology. Machines had been invented that can connect people all around the world into a articficial world using virtual reality functions and is used by wearing a technological helmet onto your head and by 'FullDiving' into the artificial world. Kazuto Kirigaya goes under the name 'Kirito' within this world and functions as a MMORPG would (like World of Warcraft). From here, the creator of the artificial world traps them inside, causing everyone to have mental distress within the game (and did I mention when you die ingame, you die for good?). Kiritos aim is to get stronger and beat the game!

Is it worth watching, what is the appropriate age to watch this?:

Sword Art Online, in my opinion, is worth a watch. Most people judge this anime without actually watching it (which was kinda what happened to me). I searched it out of curiousity, and I've got to say it's one of my favourite anime yet! The appropiate age for this anime would be Teen (13+) as it does include violence, but does not include blood, but instead pixelated squares (since the anime is based within a game). This anime is also quite short, giving another reason why the anime is worth a watch!

Can we comment on any questions we have regarding this anime?:
